You know it's that time when you (1) become hungry all of a sudden and catch yourself pigging out on things, (2) have lack of energy or are extremely due to differences in your sleep patterns, (3) are fatigued, (4) have decreased sexual desire, (5) have mood swings, etc. I began noticing symptoms of THE CURSE last week: I ate EVERYTHING I could get my hands on and felt like I had gained twenty pounds when I didn't at all. Yesterday it hit me, and since we are moving there is hardly anything "good" in the house. My mum does not want to go to Wal-Mart for major grocery shopping
just to have to move it to the new house. So, that meant that I had to think of other ways that worked for me, and while I thought of them I decided to share them with you all.
1. Candy Canes

These candies don't have to eaten ONLY during the holidays! Stock up after Christmas on them, put them some place cool (like your closet or dresser!) and save them for when you get a sugar craving! Since they do not have a lot of fat in them (some don't have any at all!) they make a good snack AND get rid of that sweet tooth of yours. Plus, they come in all different shapes, colors, sizes and designs!
2. Dark Chocolate

Chocolate seems to be the biggest desire for ladies when it comes to 'that time'. I strongly dislike chocolate unless it is dark chocolate, and I will only eat it around this time. When I found out that it was healthier, it made me like it even more. While helping relieve a bit of the pain from cramps and such, a small bar everyday can help keep your heart and cardiovascular system running well. To back this up, you can read more here.
3. Avoid CAFFEINE.

The caffeine will make you tired and won't help to relieve the pain as much as water, tea and fruit juice (orange juice, apple juice, etc.) will. Green Tea naturally soothes your body and gives you more energy, water keeps you from getting dehydrated and fruit juice has many vitamins you need on a day to day basis!
4. Get a warm, wet rag

Place a warm, wet rag on your lower abdomen and lay down. This will help pain from your cramps go away.
5. Vitamins & Minerals

Taking vitamins such as Vitamin C and Vitamin B each day (or as recommended by doctor!) helps to decrease menstrual cramps and any pain that they may create.
6. Tuna Fish & Crackers

As disgusting as it may taste to you, Tuna fish is really good for you. I used to eat this brand all the time (I haven't in a while because I haven't been to the store in a while AND my mom HATES tuna :/). It comes with one can of tuna, one spoon, relish, mayonnaise, crackers, a napkin and a mint. It makes a good, light snack. When I ate it for lunch at school last year I always made sure to bring a little extra for in case I was still hungry since I was always hungry after eating it. I just needed a bag of chips or crackers and I was good, though! I also noticed a difference in my energy and mood as I seemed to have much more patience with everyone who would tick me off. In other words, I used this for my mood swings! :DI hope this helps. I've sent this to a few of my friends before and it helped them. Let me know if it does and feel free to share your tips and such with me. :]
